June 19th, 1970, Brian Phillip Welch was born in Torrance California. In highschool he made friends with James "Munky" and they would practice guitar together. If one would know a guitar riff that was better then the others they would practice until they could do that riff and more, alot better. It was like a competition between the two to see who could be better.
Munky joined LAPD and Brian would hang out with the band and drink their beer. Then they needed a 2nd touring guitarist and asked Brian if he would join. Of course he obliged. Alcohol played an important role in Brians life.
Some of you heard the story of how Limp Bizkit got there start by a drunken Fred Durst tattoing horn on Brians lower back. Also Brian doesnt remember being at the Got the Life shooting. He was drunk from a party before the show. He doesnt remember being there but he knows he was because, well he was in the video.
Brian got his nickname "Head" from having a big head. "I have a big head, go get me any hat and it wont fit, except this one cause its stretchy"-from Who Then Now? Brian got to sing Low Rider by War on his birthday as a suprise from all the other members of KoRn. He got his tone-loc on to sing that song.
Brian married Rebekkah and had a daughter, Jennea Marie, on July 6th 1998. This is the reason KoRn pulled out of the European Ozzfest tour in 1998. Brian did not want to be so far away from his wife at this particular time. KoRn would not play the tour without him so they just pulled off the whole tour.
Later in 2001 Brian and Rebekkah divorced. |
